The smallest things

Everything exists for a reason. Everything happens for a reason.

It is up to you to open your awareness to it or not. It is also up to you to focus on it or not.

If you cannot appreciate it and be grateful for it… shift your focus… to something you can be grateful for… for now.

It is easier for some to be grateful for the bigger things life brings, because they are easy to notice and maybe even hard not to stop to appreciate them for a little while, at least, but the smallest things should receive the same appreciation.

Appreciation should not be measured with the size of what is appreciated nor its value. If you do so, you might be teaching your Ego that the more the better and the bigger the better; and you might be teaching others the same thing. The Ego, just like others, might then be deceived with smaller gestures and smaller gifts… and “smaller” moments.

If you are not already doing this, learn to see the smallest things and see the beauty of it. Take the time to stop and look at what is and think of positive thoughts about it. All the positive thoughts you can have.

You can teach yourself to be like the child looking at a ladybug. Have you ever noticed how a child is in awe when there is a ladybug? It does not matter how many times that child has seen one.

When it is a simple gesture, that seem like a habit; or a ladybug, be grateful for them.

Make sure you enjoy the smallest things too. Be grateful for them.
